‘The
communication of the Good News of Christ’s Kingdom and his
accompanying command to people to repent, believe and be baptised
into his Body the Church.’ Lambeth Conference 1988
The Diocesan
Evangelism Resource Group, a sub-group of the Board for Church in
Society, exists to promote the theology, understanding and
practice of evangelism in the diocese, to be a resource for
parishes and deaneries and others in the diocese engaged in the
ministry of evangelism and to provide a diocese-wide network of
support and information for those with responsibility for
Evangelism in each of the Episcopal Areas.
Its members are
those with designated Area responsibility for Evangelism and
Diocesan Advisers with an evangelistic component to their work and
membership is open to all ordained and lay evangelism
practitioners. The Canon Missioner is a member of the Group and
the direct link to the Church & Society.
The Group
contributes to diocesan training courses and arranges occasional
events for the study, discussion and sharing of good practice.
