Self evaluation is now at the centre of good practice in schools. Ofsted inspections are now planned in the light of a school's own view of itself. This document is intended to help C of E Schools evaluate those aspects which related to the distinctive status and ethos of a church school. It will assist schools in preparing for Section 23 inspection and provide a framework for an ongoing evaluation of the ways in which the Christian foundation of the school is reflected in its life and work. The guidelines include questions on key areas - ethos, collective worship and religious education together with indicators for each area to guide the school in making an evaluation.
