Exclusion
The Board offers assistance to headteachers and governors in dealing with exclusions. The Board recognises that exclusion is normally a last resort in the disciplinary process. Schools should follow the DfES Guidance - Improving Behaviour and Attendance - Guidance on Exclusion from Schools and Pupil Referral Units. Click here to link to the DCSF guidance.
Schools may prefer to order a hard copy of the document, e-mail dfes@prolog.uk.com quoting reference 02017-2006BKT-EN ISBN 1-84478-803-2.
Further guidance and information can be found on the DCSF website
Pupil discipline and behaviour statement
Governing bodies must agree a statement of general principles which underpin the school's behaviour policy. Guidance on this is available from the DCSF.
The Board has produced a model discipline statement for schools to adapt for their own use.
