School Leadership
The Board of Education is committed to leadership succession. Through its advisory service the Board offers a training and development programme aimed at supporting and developing experienced leaders and those aspiring to lead, at all levels.
Early Headship Programme
The effectiveness of the headteacher is a critical factor in determining the quality of education that a school provides. The Board of Education is acutely aware of the need to support headteachers especially in the early stages of their headship appointment. Alongside an induction pack and induction day the Board offers a comprehensive Early Headship Programme.
Senior Staff Appointments
The Board's advisers support governing bodies in the appointment of headteachers, deputies and heads of RE departments (secondary phase). Alongside written guidance this support includes assistance in drawing up the relevant documentation, planning the selection process and participation in the interview procedure. In special circumstances the Board's staff may assist in the appointment of other senior posts within the leadership team.
