God our Father, source of all creation, We praise and thank you for the beauty of this land in which we live. The majesty of ancient, towering cliffs, snow-capped mountains, rainforest, coastline and desert speak to us of your eternal power and glory. The rainbow colours of birds in flight, and flowers blooming after desert rains remind us of your covenant-promise given to Noah so long ago.
In the richness and variety of the gifts of our Aboriginal people, and of all those from many races who have settled in this Great Southern Land, we see the hope and challenge of our future. Teach us to live together in love, peace and acceptance of one another, so that our lives may witness to the truth of your Gospel of salvation, and may the light of the Great Southern Cross shine as a beacon in your world.
In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
(Margaret Pressley)
