Diocese of AbaThe Diocese of Aba is situated in the rain forest region, in the south-east of Nigeria with a population of about 1 million scattered over an area of 5,000 square miles and is a rural Diocese. The Diocese of Calabar is situated in the south east of Nigeria and is bounded on the east by the Cameroon Republic. From 1980 to 1990 it developed from a parish to an archdeaconry and finally a Diocese The MU was already established in the area and works to alleviate poverty among women. This Diocese was part of the old Niger Delta Diocese and we retain the link with the Bishop. The Mothers' Union is held in high esteem and only those who are or have been married or have been blessed by the Church may join.
