New Canon Treasurer for Southwark Cathedral

The Bishop of Southwark, the Rt Revd Christopher Chessun has appointed the Revd Leanne Roberts as the next Canon Treasurer of Southwark Cathedral. She will also be the Diocesan Director of Ordinands and replaces the Revd Margaret Jackson who has been Acting Diocesan Director of Ordinands for the last year.
Ms Roberts (37) has been Chaplain to Hertford College Oxford since 2005.She was ordained deacon in 2002 and priest in 2003 and served her title at All Saints, Hampton in the Diocese of London (2002-2005).She plays the cello, piano and sings and lists her hobbies and interests as reading detective fiction and cooking.
The Bishop of Southwark says of the appointment, 'Leanne comes with a great deal of experience in fostering vocations and brings with her many fresh ideas about how to seek to encourage them from right across Southwark's diverse parishes.'
The Acting Dean of Southwark, the Revd Canon Andrew Nunn says, 'We look forward to welcoming Leanne to the staff of the Cathedral and to her participation in the daily rhythm of prayer and worship.'
Leanne Roberts says, 'I am delighted to have this opportunity to contribute to the life of the Cathedral and work with others in encouraging and fostering vocations within the Diocese of Southwark'.
