Angela Sarkis to Address Race Equality in Employment Programme (REEP), 24 September

Angela Sarkis, a leading advocate of racial equality in public life, will address the AGM of the Race Equality in Employment Programme (REEP) at Tate Modern on Tuesday 24 September at 5pm. Under the title ’ÄúNew Wine, Old Wineskins’Äù, she will ask whether regeneration policies are refreshing all parts of our diverse community.
Medway Council and Thames Valley Police (Slough area) are two employers who have achieved REEP accreditation and the awards will be made after the main address. REEP works with employers to help them deal with issues of recruitment, monitoring, training, representation and harassment.

Mrs Angela Sarkis CBE is a freelance consultant. She currently has two Government appointments, as non-executive Director of the Home Office Correctional Services Board, and with the DfES, dealing with teacher workload management. She was until 1998 Chief Executive of the Church Urban Fund, and has worked in the probation service. She is a member of the House of Lords Appointments Commission, which was set up by the Government as part of its plan to modernise the House of Lords. She is a trustee of the BBC Children in Need and an adviser to the Government's Social Exclusion Unit.
