Michaelmas Ordinations of Priests in Southwark Diocese

The Ordinations of twenty two priests will take place across Southwark Diocese at 11am on Saturday 9 October.

The Bishop of Southwark, the Rt Rev. Dr Tom Butler, will ordain eleven new priests in Southwark Cathedral. The churches where they serve are shown:

  • Tristan Alexander-Yates: Holy Trinity Eltham (NSM)
  • Ray Andrews: St John East Dulwich (Stipendiary)
  • Susan Blackall: St Barnabas Eltham (NSM)
  • Steve Doel: St John Blackheath (Stipendiary)
  • Kerry (Kes) Grant: St Saviour Eltham (NSM)
  • Peter Hudson: St Paul w St Mark Deptford (OLM)
  • Sue Knight: St Mildred Lee (NSM)
  • Isoline Russell: St Giles with St Matthew Camberwell (OLM)
  • Sheila Saunders: St Peter Walworth (OLM)
  • Desrene Swaby: St George the Martyr Southwark (NSM)
  • Nick Wheeler: St John Blackheath (NSM)

The Bishop of Croydon, the Rt Rev Nick Baines, will ordain five new priests in Croydon Parish Church:

  • Kim Aston: Croydon Parish Church (NSM)
  • Joyce Forbes: St Stephen Norbury and Thornton Heath (OLM)
  • Marie King: St Mildred Addiscombe (OLM)
  • Val Williams: St Katherine Merstham (OLM)
  • Jan Wilson: Emmanuel Croydon (OLM)

The Bishop of Kingston, the Rt Rev Dr Richard Cheetham, will ordain six new priests in Mortlake, St Mary the Virgin:

  • Keith Bishop: St Mary Balham (NSM)
  • Felicity Couch: St Michael Stockwell (NSM)
  • John Goddard: Morden Team Ministry (OLM)
  • Michael Roper: Mortlake with East Sheen (Stipendiary)
  • Penny Seabrook: St Barnabas Southfields (NSM)
  • Olwen Williamson: Mortlake with East Sheen (OLM)

Note:

Stipendiary means they receive the equivalent of a salary, NSM means non-stipendiary and OLM means Ordained Local Ministers, who are also non-stipendiary but can only serve in their local church.
