Doves of Peace

Southwark Cathedral was full as hundreds of people gathered inside and in the garden to observe the two minutes silence at noon today. Those gathered stood as the Canon Pastor, Canon Bruce Saunders, lead them into the silence and closed it in prayers for all those who had been touched by the events in London last week.

Following the Act of Remembrance, Canon Saunders went into the Cathedral garden and released the first of a group of doves as a symbol of our striving for peace.
