Southwark's Anglican & Roman Catholic Bishops Meet

On Wednesday 5 July, the Bishop of Southwark, the Rt. Rev. Dr Tom Butler, along with Dr Richard Cheetham, the Area Bishop of Kingston and Bishop Christopher Chessun, the Area Bishop of Woolwich, met with Archbishop Kevin McDonald, the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Southwark. The Archbishop was accompanied by Bishop Patrick Lynch SS CC, who is responsible for the South East pastoral area of the Catholic Archdiocese of Southwark and Bishop Paul Hendricks, responsible for the South West pastoral area.

The breakfast meeting, which was hosted by Bishop Tom, gave them an opportunity to get to know each other and to talk about their shared understanding of South London and Surrey and the area's social, economic and religious issues.

It also gave Bishop Richard an opportunity to catch up with Bishop Paul Hendricks, as they were at University together.
