The following are to be ordained to the priesthood by the Bishop of Southwark, The Rt Rev. Dr Thomas Butler, on Sunday 8th October 2006 at 11 am at Southwark Cathedral.

Note: Stipendiary means they receive the equivalent of a salary, NSM means non-stipendiary (i.e. they are unpaid for their work) and OLM means Ordained Local Minister, who are also non-stipendiary but can only serve in their local parish.
Short Biographies
Susan Lynn Billin, 46, has had a varied occupational history within nursing and nursing education, including time spent in the Army Nursing Corps. Married to David, she is a keen cyclist who also enjoys bird watching, walking and playing music.
South Beddington, St Michael's and All Angels (NSM)
Louise Boulton, 34, is married to Adrian Mudd and has one son. Louise is an IT Systems Analyst, and has degrees in both English Literature and Pastoral Theology. Her interests are literature, the theatre and gardening.
Wandsworth, St Anne, (NSM)
Joy Boyce, 60, is married to Nicholas and they have three adult children. Joy was a reader for 10 years before she was ordained deacon. She enjoys working with young people, reading and going to the theatre.
Streatham, Christ Church with St Margaret (United Benefice) (NSM)
Iain Farquhar, 60, is married to Helena and they have three children. Iain trained as a horticulturalist and moved to London from his native Scotland in 1983. Brought up a Presbyterian, Iain was confirmed into the Anglican church in 1995. He enjoys gardening and walking.
Catford, St Laurence, (OLM)
Cynthia Ann Finnerty, 60, has been a primary school teacher for more than 30 years with a particular interest in music. She has directed junior and all-age choirs and encouraged music-making in the church and community. Among her interests are community drama and she was part of the group responsible for the Passion Play in Greenwich in 2000. Cynthia is married to Edward and they have three children.
Westcombe Park, St George, (OLM)
Caroline Groves, 64, has been married to Simon for over 40 years. They have three children and six grandchildren. Caroline is a trained dancer who gave up dancing professionally just prior to the birth of her first child. She then worked part-time as a dancing teacher and as a rehabilitation worker for people with learning difficulties. She enjoys giving hospitality to family and friends, visits to the theatre and cinema and eating out. She and her husband are keen skiers and visit the ski slopes every year.
Norbiton, St Peter, (OLM)
Erica Longfellow, 31, is a Senior Lecturer at Kingston University. She has written academic articles and a book entitled 'Women and Religious Writing in Early Modern England' which was published by Cambridge University Press in 2005. She was subsequently nominated for The Times Higher Education Supplement Young Academic Author of the Year. Her interests include cooking, walking, film & travel.
Kew, St Luke's w St Philip & All Saints (NSM)
Liz Newman, 48, has a degree in theology from Kings College and was licensed as a Reader in 1999. A qualified social worker, she is married with three children. Liz enjoys meeting people, cinema, cooking, football and ’Äútrying to keep up with what my children are into’Äù.
Charlton United Benefice (OLM)
Olufunke Ogbede, 58, is married with two children. Born and educated in Nigeria, Funke attained a number of qualifications in education. She has worked in education, as a hospital chaplain, and as a care assistant. Funke was licensed as a Reader in 1996. She enjoys writing poems, reading, sewing and experimenting with different diets.
South Lambeth, St Anne & All Saints (OLM)
Shirley Rayner, 52, is married with two grown-up children. Her interests are reading, walking, gardening and dog-walking.
Croydon, St Peter & St Augustine, (NSM)
William Sharpe, 44, is married to Jennifer and has they have two sons. A caterer, he enjoys cooking(!) and lists his other interests as walking and listening to music.
Brixton. St Matthew's (NSM)
Bennett Spong, 57, was born in South Carolina, USA and settled in Charlton in the early '80s with his wife Sally and their three sons. He is a teacher of technology and Head of Year in a large comprehensive in East London ’Äì where he taught for 20 years with Sally. Bennett enjoys family walking holidays, reading, films, sports and art ’Äì designing and making stained glass windows.

Carolin Telford, 49, is married to Martin Brown, and they have two children. She lists her interests as art, design, gardening, botanical illustration and reading.
Lee, St Augustine (NSM)
Rosemary Webb, 67, is married to Peter and they have three children and four grandchildren. Her interests and hobbies include her grandchildren, reading, listening to music, crossword puzzles and human rights issues.
Redhill, St Matthew (OLM)
Erica Wooff, 39, has spent her working life involved with the promotion of social justice and inclusion, particularly in the Charity sector. Outside working hours, Erica relaxes with her friends and is interested in creative writing and gardens.
