Painting takes church into Battersea Park

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 2 June 1999

All Saints Church in Prince of Wales Drive, Battersea has a glowing new exterior wall, where local artist Michael Warren has painted the multi-ethnic congregation flowing out from the church into the Park.

The Bishop of Southwark, the Rt Rev Tom Butler, will dedicate the painting on Thursday 3 June, at 1 pm approximately.

The Rev Dr Alan Gadd, Curate-in-Charge of All Saints Church, said, "The painting results from a dialogue between the artist and the Church Council, a creative process over a period of time. We hope it will help people see the links between the church and everday life."
