The Rev Canon Owen Beament, Vicar of All Saints, Hatcham Park, in South East London, has been awarded an MBE in the New Year Honours list for Services to the Community in Deptford and New Cross.

The Hon. Curate at All Saints, Rev John Francis, says: "Fr Owen has been our vicar for over 26 years at All Saints and has been pivotal in the growth and development in the community locally in Deptford and New Cross."

Owen Beament was ordained deacon in 1964 and priest in 1965. He served as Curate at St Paul's Deptford, 1964-68; at St John's Peckham, 1969-73; at St Peter's Vauxhall, 1973-4; and then Vicar of All Saints until the present. He is also Chaplain to Millwall Football Club.
