Princess Alexandra at two South London Churches This Week

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 3 April 2001

HRH Princess Alexandra will unveil a 15 foot long Millennium Tapestry at St Luke's Church, Charlton on Wednesday 4 April at 3.30 pm. It has been made entirely by local people, many of them without previous experience, and depicts scenes representing each 100 years of the past two thousand.

On the following day, Thursday 5 April, the Princess will be at St John's Church, Waterloo. She will take part in a service at 12 noon, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the re-opening of St John's as the church for the Festival of Britain. She will also open a new Garden of Remembrance in St John's Churchyard.
