BISHOPS TO PRISON 23 December 2002 Prison inmates at Brixton, Belmarsh and Wandsworth will have a welcome chance to celebrate Christmas Day in worship. The Bishop of Southwark and his two area bishops currently in post will each visit a prison on Christmas morning and lead a service for prisoners and staff. The Bishop of Southwark, the Rt Rev Tom Butler will go to Brixton, the Bishop of Woolwich, the Rt Rev Colin Buchanan to Belmarsh and the new Bishop of Kingston, the Rt Rev Richard Cheetham, will make his first visit to Wandsworth Prison. There is no Bishop of Croydon at present, as the Rt Rev Wilfred Wood retired recently and his successor has not yet been named. Ends. For further information contact: Diocesan
