GHANA INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

The Ghanaian Anglican Fellowship (UK) will celebrate Ghana's 46th Independence Anniversary with a service and reception at Southwark Cathedral on Saturday 8 March 2003. The Bishop of Kumasi (Ghana), the Rt Rev Daniel Yinka Sarfo will preside, and the High Commissioner of Ghana, H E Mr Isaac Osei will give a short message of good will.

The service starts at 5.30 pm and will have as its theme: "A nation founded on the fear of God", which reflects the religious nature of the people of Ghana.

The Ghanaian Anglican Fellowship (UK) - the first-ever in the UK - was founded in 2002 by the Rev George Ansah, Vicar of Emmanuel, West Dulwich, in south east London, with the collaboration of Canon Peter Clark, Vicar of Christ Church & St Stephen, Battersea and Mr Sam Kow Arthur. The Fellowship is under the auspices of the Bishop of Southwark, the Bishop of Kumasi and His Excellency the High Commissioner.
