JEFFREY JOHN TO BE NEW DEAN OF ST ALBANS ABBEY

It was announced at 11am today by Downing Street that the Rev Canon Dr Jeffrey John is to be the new Dean of St Albans Abbey.

Upon hearing the news of Jeffrey's appointment, Bishop Tom commented:

"I am pleased to learn that the Rev. Canon Dr Jeffrey John has been appointed as the new Dean of St Albans Abbey. The Abbey and the Diocese of St Albans will benefit greatly from his gifts, experience and dedication.

I am grateful to him for all that he has contributed to the Diocese of Southwark and wish him well for the future."
