STATEMENT FROM THE RT REVD
DR TOM BUTLER, BISHOP OF SOUTHWARK, ON THE DEATH OF SHEIKH DR ZAKI
BADAWI 25 January 2006 I was sorry to learn of the death
of Sheikh Dr Zaki Badawi. He was an eloquent and thoughtful
spokesman for the Muslim communities of Britain and had worked
long and hard to promote better relations between our faith
communities both here and overseas. His friendship and wisdom have
been greatly valued within the Christian community and I shall
remember him with thanksgiving. Ends Diocesan
