Details of Church
Built: 1898
Architect: W H Harrison
Listing: not listed
The church is a small structure, picturesquely situated by the road side among woods and fields. It was originally constructed as a Mission Room as a result of a legacy from Samuel Charlesworth, Rector of Limpsfield from 1857-70. It was consecrated as a church in 1930. It underwent change in 1976 when part of the building was remodelled to provide living accommodation for the priest caring for this remote part of the parish.
Up to the level of the cills of the windows the walls are of brick with occasional stones let in, and of half timber construction above i.e. plaster panels in oak framing. The roof is of tiles and there is a small wooden bellcote in the west gable containing one bell. The windows are of leaded lights, containing clear glass except for the east window which has stained glass.
