Built: 1886-87
Architect: H R Gough
Diocesan Record Office: Lewisham Local Studies Centre

The church was demolished in the 1960s and replaced by a new church and community centre on a different site.

Description

"A large church of Bracknell brick and Corsham stone, by H R Gough, built in 1886-7. As originally designed, it had nave, aisles, and chancel: then transepts were added, and a central tower with a slated pyramid spire. The cost was £8,450. The pillars are of Bath stone, the arches of brick. The chancel screen by W D Caröe was erected in 1908; the two west windows, in 1951, by Mrs R M de Montmorency. In 1965 it was proposed to demolish the church, sell the site to the Lewisham Borough Council, and build a new church, youth centre, community centre, hall, flats, a vicarage and a playground."
