Prayer for our new Bishop

We praise and thank you, loving God,
for sending us Christopher to be our Bishop.
May he pastor us, teach us and lead us
that together we may be your people
and this Diocese a sign of your kingdom.
As he prepares for this new challenge
prepare us also to receive him anew
that together we may know your will for us
in the Diocese of Southwark
and by your grace
respond with eager joy
to the challenge of the future;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.
