THE DIOCESE OF SOUTHWARK
wishes to appoint a
DIOCESAN SURVEYOR
Salary scale £44,218 to £52,410 (inc. London Weighting & Car
Allowance)
You will be responsible to the Diocesan Secretary for devising,
promoting and delivering diocesan policy in respect of a substantial
and varied property portfolio, providing a professional management,
repair and maintenance service for all property either owned by the
Diocesan Board of Finance, held in trust, or for which the Board is
responsible under various Ecclesiastical Measures and giving
co-ordinated advice, encouragement and practical support to parishes
in the current and future management, and care of parochial
buildings.
A Chartered Building Surveyor with significant post qualification
experience, you possess a good working knowledge of building
construction. You will be able to produce high quality drawings, be
well versed in Law of Property, Planning Law, current Building
Regulations and CDM Regulations and have specific experience of
administering JCT Building Agreements, and site supervision of
building works. A good working knowledge of IT including CAD,
Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is essential.
In sympathy with the aims and objectives of the Church of England
and preferably with some knowledge of its structures, at a personal
level, you will be an effective, diplomatic communicator who can
work under pressure as part of our small property team.

OLD COULSDON, St John

Can you help us develop our music in worship?
We are an Anglican church in the south of the London Borough of
Croydon that enjoys traditional and contemporary musical worship. We
have a number of good musicians and singers of all ages but need a
Director of Music in Worship who
can help them use their gifts to enhance and develop our gathered
worship. This person will have a desire to encounter God in worship,
have practical musical skills, the ability to motivate and organize
others, and a willingness to serve the church as part of the
ministry team. The job would suit someone looking to develop their
experience in the area of leading church music. The position of
Director of Music in Worship is a voluntary post, but all expenses
will be paid.

(32 hours pw)
to develop and expand the work of mission and ministry among young
people.

be the sort of person we are looking for to provide visitors to
Wychcroft with a warm and welcoming environment in which to meet, work
or take time out of busy lives for reflection. Some cooking experience
and the ability to drive would be useful; also important is your
belief that you can make a positive contribution.
We are looking for an
initial commitment of around a year so you may find this ideal if you
are taking a ‘year out’, are a recent graduate or are simply looking
to explore your vocation.
Salary and board will
