UNCOMMON WORSHIP
Monday 5th February 2007
10am – 4pm
Venue:
St Faith’s, North Dulwich
Led by:
Rev. Hugh Dawes
Richard Giles’ books Repitching the
Tent and Uncommon Worship have both attracted much comment,
and certainly have begun to influence the design and layout of church
buildings. But how much have they really affected our living and
making of worship, or our thinking about church and ministry within
it?
This day will explore the practice, but
also the radically liberating theology, of Uncommon Worship. It will
look at how it might transform not simply worship, but the whole
experience of being church; and for those who are ordained, possibly
their understanding and experience of that as well.
It is intended for anyone with a
concern for the importance of worship, but especially perhaps for
those who question some of their past certainties about it, whilst
still convinced about its mattering
