Urban Seminars 1, 2 & 3

Thursday 28th September 2006
The Diocese of Southwark now
Changing perceptions in the light of the Indices of Multiple Deprivation. Doing a ‘Value Audit’
(Run in partnership with Diocesan advisers).

Monday 20th November 2006.
Doing theology in London.
Practical, experiential and academic theology linked together within the changing context of London.

Thursday 15th February 2007.
Thriving Schools / thriving communities.
Education and Regeneration
(Run in partnership with the Diocesan Board of Education).

10am-1pm

Christ Church, Blackfriars
27 Blackfriars Road, London, SE1 8NY.

Led by:
Revd. Tim Scott, Bishop’s Adviser on Regeneration and Revd. Dr. Andrew Davey, National Adviser on Community and Urban Affairs to the Archbishops’ Council.

Course intended for:
All those ministering in an urban context or with an interest in these issues.

Content of course:
The content of the course will be drawn from the titles of the seminars. There will be a mixture of input from practitioners and academics.

Aims:
To provide a learning experience for all concerned (including those giving input) to enable creative and new approaches to ministry within the urban setting.

Urban Spirituality

A day involving plenary and specific workshops exploring different themes around urban spirituality and aimed at deepening our understanding of this rich topic.
